Packing service
Packing done properly, so it arrives in one piece
Most breakages on a move happen because something was packed badly, not because it was dropped. Plates stacked flat instead of on edge, glasses with no paper between them, boxes packed too heavy to lift or too light to stack. Packing well takes time and the right materials.
If you would rather not spend your evenings surrounded by tape, we can do it for you. A full pack is usually done the day before the move, so on moving day we are only loading, driving and unloading.

Packing yourself
Packing tips that save breakages
Heavy in small, light in large
Books and tins in medium boxes, bedding and cushions in large ones. Every box should be liftable by one person.
Plates on edge
Wrap each plate and stand them on edge like records. They are far stronger that way than stacked flat.
Fill the gaps
Scrunched paper in every gap stops things moving. A box that rattles is a box that breaks.
Label the room, not the contents
Mark each box with the room it goes to at the new house, so it gets put in the right place first time.
